April 30th Discussions

Today on Live Marketing Chat, we discussed a number of interesting topics, including:

• Marketing in a very small niche;
• Mistaking objections in the sales process as personal attacks;
• Affiliate networking companies;
• Self-Hosted Affiliate program management;
• Goal Setting and Time Management;
• The challenges of building an online community;
• WordPress Plugins;
• RSS Feeds and RSS Syndication;
• Crowd Sourcing;
• Micro-Loans;
• Using purchase orders to launch new businesses;
• Marketing through trade shows and large retailers;
• Clothing manufacturing and marketing (one of our members works in that niche);

We did go off-topic a couple times tonight, but it was still fun.

The first time we went off-topic, we were talking about the landscape of Texas and Oklahoma.

The second time we went off-topic, we were talking about the depth of redneck that can be found in various parts of the country.

All in all, it was a productive and interesting chat. I always feel blessed when I can learn something new, as I was able to do tonight.

The discussion about marketing in the clothing industry — although it is a niche I will never work in myself — was very interesting to me. It allowed me a chance to understand that industry in a way that I was never able to do before tonight.
